Ok, now you have installed WordPress and your site looks awesome but for some reason it takes too long to load. Now what do you do?
Well follow these steps:

1) Install a Caching Plugin

There are lots of caching plugins out there but I like to use WP Super Cache. It is well tested and used by many WordPress users. This plugin generates static html files from your dynamic WordPress blog. After a html file is generated your webserver will serve that file instead of processing the comparatively heavier and more expensive WordPress PHP scripts.

2) Adjust the # of posts that display

This can really help speed things up if you have lots of posts on your blog. Under your WordPress Control Panel adjust these settings:

Settings > Options > Reading > Then Adjust the number of “Blog Posts” down to something like 4 then click “update”.

3) Check your Plugins

Not all plugins are “good” plugins. There are thousands of plug-ins that can do just about anything except wash your car. Don’t go plugin crazy. Research the ones you want to use on your website. Make sure they are well tested and read the reviews from the WordPress Community users. Be very selective and make sure you keep your plugins up-to-date. An out-of-date plugins can really slow your site down. Just be sure to backup your website before each update!!!!
